Plinia rivularis, known by a number of local names such as Guaburiti or Jaboticabarana, is one of the rarer species of jaboticaba. It comes from the regions of South America, where it grows in the natural environment of rain and floodplain forests, and it is from there that it takes on its unique character.
The plant gradually forms a dense, compact tree - shrub with attractive foliage, where the new leaves have a soft pinkish to red tint. Thanks to its slower growth, it is perfectly suited for growing in containers, where it will maintain a reasonable size even after many years and will not outgrow the space available. As with other jaboticaba, the fruits appear directly on the trunk and thicker branches, which is always an interesting and unusual sight.
The round fruits, about 2 cm in size, turn red to dark shades when ripe. Inside they hide a juicy, sweet and aromatic pulp, with a peach flavor and subtle tropical tones. Supposedly one of the most delicious jaboticaba. The fruits are delicious fresh, but are also suitable for homemade juices or desserts.
THE SIZE OF THE PLANTS SOLD WITH A FLOWER POT IS 15 to 20 CM - LAST PICTURE
