We offer for sale one of the rarest jaboticaba in our collection – Plinia inflata (Mulchi).
Many years ago we sowed a large number of seeds of this Amazonian rarity. As is the case with such rare species, most of the seedlings gradually fell off and in the end only two plants survived. For many years they grew very slowly and overcame various initial problems. Only during the last year did they fully grow, get stronger and now they are thriving without any problems.
Since we have two plants in the collection and the space is not inflatable, we decided to offer one to another grower or collector.
This is not a plant for everyone.
Plinia inflata is one of the species that are extremely rare in Europe. Finding this species in collections is not easy, let alone a plant of this size that has been grown for several years. Obtaining seeds is difficult and the path from seed to strong plant requires many years of patience.
Plinia inflata (Mulchi) comes from the humid tropical forests of the western Amazon in Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. It is a jaboticaba with really large yellow fruits, the taste of which combines the sweetness of biriba with the refreshing acidity of jaboticaba. It is one of the most interesting species of the Plinia genus and is highly valued by collectors of rare fruit plants.
