Plinia aureana – White Jaboticaba / Jabuticaba Branca as it is also called, is a rare tropical fruit tree native to southeastern Brazil, valued for its beauty, easy care and delicious fruit, which is among the best jaboticabas. In the wild it grows to a height of 6–8 meters, but when grown in a container it remains smaller, usually around 100 cm after 5–8 years. It has leaves up to 12 cm long with deeply impressed veins, which change from salmon color when young to dark green when mature.
It blooms with small, inconspicuous flowers directly on the trunk, which is typical for jaboticabas. The fruits are green, sweet, without acidity and with a subtle honey flavor. They contain 1-3 seeds and are ideal for direct consumption. The tree begins to bear fruit on jaboticabas relatively early, after approximately 4-6 years, and under good conditions can bear fruit several times a year. It grows best in acidic, well-drained soil, needs regular watering and thrives in both sun and partial shade. Young plants are sensitive to frost and must be wintered at temperatures above 10 °C.
Jaboticabas require a little patience - the fastest-fruiting varieties will start bearing fruit in about 4-5 years, others can bear fruit in more than 7 years, but your efforts will ultimately be rewarded with abundant flowers and fruits directly on the trunk, several times a year!

Instructions for growing jaboticaba Aureana
Substrate:
Preferably acidic and well-drained.
Recommended mixture: 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, a little sand.
Watering:
Keep the substrate slightly moist
In winter, reduce watering a little, pour out excess water from the tray after watering.
Growing location:
At home all year round: As close to a window as possible, with plenty of light.
From spring to autumn, the flower pot can be moved outside to a terrace, garden, or balcony in partial shade.
Wintering:
Tropical plant - cannot tolerate temperatures below 5 °C for a long time. Winter at a minimum temperature of 15 °C.
For the winter, place in the living room, bedroom, hallway, winter garden or tempered greenhouse, always as close to a window as possible.
Fertilization:
Common water-soluble or granulated fertilizers.
For plants under 2 years old, use half the dose.
Older plants can tolerate normal doses.
