We offer a two-year-old plant of the rare Myrciaria sp Gin & Tonic originating from the Bahia region in Brazil.
The plant forms a compact shrub that can grow up to 2-3 meters in natural conditions, and tolerates growing in a container very well, where it can be maintained at a much smaller, controlled growth.
Its red young shoots are very attractive, which give the plant a distinctive ornamental character. It gradually produces small fruits that initially turn green and turn dark red to burgundy when ripe.
The fruits are smaller, juicy and very interesting in taste - they are described as sweet with a delicate acidity and a slightly aromatic tone that resembles the fresh "gin-like" character, according to which this selection is unofficially referred to among collectors.
Myrciaria sp. "Gin & Tonic" is a real rarity and is considered one of the greatest rarities within the Myrciaria genus.
The plant is healthy, two years old, well-rooted and suitable for growing in containers and collections of rare fruit species.
