This rare Eugenia, natively called Uvalha or Uvaia, comes from Brazil and begins to bear fruit around the third year after planting the seed. The plants offered come from seeds harvested from our self-pollinating plant, which we lovingly cultivate in northern Bohemia. (Self-pollinating means that only one plant is needed to produce fruit.)
The fruits of Eugenia pyriformis are bright yellow, full of juicy sweet and sour pulp, which tastes like apricots, but with distinct tropical tones. Their taste is refreshing and unique, ideal for direct consumption or for preparing homemade delicacies.
Eugenia Pyriformis is easy to grow. It does great in a pot, whether you have it at home by the window all year round, or you move it outside from spring to autumn - to the garden, balcony or terrace. With the arrival of cooler days, usually around October when temperatures drop to 10-5°C, simply move it back into the house to a bright spot. Your Eugénie Pyriformis will soon reward you for your care with its delicious fruits.

Instructions for growing EUGENIA PYRIFORMIS
Substrate:
Preferably acidic and well-permeable
Recommended mixture: 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, a little sand
Watering:
Water only when the substrate dries slightly
in winter, reduce watering, after watering, pour out excess water from the tray.
Growing location:
At home all year round: As close to a window as possible, with plenty of light.
Summering is possible outside on a terrace, garden, or balcony, only from spring to autumn: Partial shade, later full sun.
Wintering:
Tropical plant - cannot tolerate temperatures below 0 °C for a long time. Winter at min. temperature 5C
For the winter, place in the living room, bedroom, hallway, winter garden or tempered greenhouse, always as close to the window as possible
Fertilization:
Fertilizers Regular water-soluble or granulated
For plants up to 2 years old, use half the dose.
Older plants can tolerate regular doses.
