Eugenia neonitida - Pitangatuba

We will start shipping in April 2025

Eugenia neonitida, also known as Eugenia selloi or Pitangatuba, is a fascinating tropical plant with slow growth, which will soon reward you with its harvest. After only two years, when it reaches a height of around 20 cm, it begins to produce beautiful yellow fruits resembling small carambola. These grow to a length of approximately 5 cm and have a juicy, sweet and sour taste with refreshing notes of mango and pineapple. In addition to their unique taste, the fruits are rich in minerals and vitamins, which makes them not only an exotic delicacy, but also a valuable source of nutrients.

  • A very undemanding plant, suitable even for beginner growers of tropical plants.
  • The plants come from the seeds of the fruits harvested from our mother plant grown in the north of Czech Republik
  • The plants grow very slowly and are therefore ideal for growing in pots.
  • Two plants are needed for fruiting, otherwise the plant will bloom, but the fruits will not form.
