Rare guava from Sri Lanka – a compact tree with excellent fruit.This unusual guava was grown from fruit seeds obtained from an experienced grower in Sri Lanka. He considered his tree a real rarity and was rightly proud of it. Although he no longer knew the exact name of the variety, the quality and taste of the fruits clearly indicated that this was something exceptional. The tree had a compact growth and, despite its smaller size, produced abundantly tasty and aromatic fruits.
The fruits are smaller, but they stand out with a pleasant sweet-sour taste and a strong aroma. Unlike the strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum), they lack the astringent resinous undertone, which makes their taste cleaner and fresher. It was the quality of the fruits that interested us so much that we decided to further propagate this interesting type of guava.
The plant forms a small shrub or tree suitable for growing in a pot. Thanks to its compact growth, it does not take up much space and is also suitable for growers with limited space. Another great advantage is the relatively early onset of fruiting - the first fruits can be expected within approximately three years of planting.

Instructions for growing Guava from Sri Lanka
Substrate:
Preferably more acidic and well-drained
Recommended mixture: 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, a little sand and garden soil
Watering:
Water only when the substrate dries slightly.
In winter, reduce watering, pour out excess water from the tray after watering.
Growing location:
At home all year round: As close to a window as possible, with plenty of light.
Summering is possible outside on a terrace, garden, or balcony, only from spring to autumn: Partial shade, later full sun.
Wintering:
Tropical plant - cannot tolerate temperatures below 0 °C for a long time. Winter at a min. temperature of 5C or more.
For the winter, place it in the living room, bedroom, hallway, winter garden or tempered greenhouse, always as close to the window as possible.
Fertilization:
Fertilizers Regular water-soluble or granular.
