In our online shop you can now find a real rarity – Syzygium jiewhoei, one of the most stunning species of the Syzygium genus, described only in 2017. This endemic from the lowland forests of Papua in Indonesian New Guinea has won the hearts of collectors around the world thanks to its appearance reminiscent of rare anthuriums. The narrow and long leaves, reaching 60 to 105 cm, bear hundreds of finely embedded veins, which give them a ribbed, elegant appearance.
Young leaves turn metallic purple shades when they sprout, which look almost unnaturally exotic, and only gradually turn into a deep green velvet color. The plant grows upright with a woody stem and branches, with flowers and fruits appearing directly on the trunk – a unique feature of the so-called cauliflory.
In our conditions it can be grown as a houseplant or portable plant. It requires plenty of light without direct sun, a constantly moist substrate and high humidity, which it will also appreciate with regular misting. However, after acclimatization, more common household conditions also prevail.
Syzygium jiewhoei is one of the rarest and most sought-after novelties of recent years. Our seedlings will allow you to grow this tropical gem right at home - and become one of the few growers who own this botanical rarity.

Instructions for growing Syzygium Jiewhoei:
Substrate:
Preferably acidic and well-permeable.
Recommended mixture: 2 parts peat, 1 part perlite, a little sand.
Watering:
Keep the substrate slightly moist.
Reduce watering in winter, pour out excess water from the tray after watering.
Growing location:
At home all year round: As close to a window as possible, with plenty of light.
Summering is possible outside on a terrace, garden, or balcony, and only from spring to autumn: Partial shade.
Wintering:
Tropical plant - cannot tolerate temperatures below 15 °C for a long time. Winter at a minimum temperature of 15 °C.
For the winter, place in the living room, bedroom, hallway, winter garden or tempered greenhouse, always as close to a window as possible.
Fertilization:
Common water-soluble or granulated fertilizers.
For plants under 2 years old, use half the dose.
Older plants can tolerate normal doses.
Suitable fertilizer:
