Discover one of the rarest exotic guavas that is winning the hearts of growers all over the world. Psidium myrtoides, also known as Araçá Roxa, or araçá-una, is a unique Brazilian species with beautiful dark purple fruits and an unusually rich taste.

The seedlings offered come from seeds of fruits grown directly in our country. The mother plant impressed us not only with its fast growth and reliable fertility, but above all with the exceptionally high-quality taste of the fruits. The fruits reached a size of 4 cm, were beautifully juicy, aromatic and contained only 2 to 3 seeds, which is a huge advantage compared to many other types of guava, which are often full of hard seeds.

The plant grows very quickly and you can expect the first fruits in about three years. Thanks to its compact growth, it is ideal for growing in a flowerpot by the window, on the balcony or in the winter garden. The tree maintains an elegant appearance with a dense crown and beautiful green leaves that look decorative all year round. During the flowering period, it is covered with delicate white flowers that give the plant an exotic and luxurious look.

The fruits have a dark purple to almost black skin and juicy colored flesh full of intense flavor. Compared to regular Psidium cattleyanum, the fruits are darker and have a more pronounced (better) flavor, and the amount of pulp is also greater, because they contain only a few larger seeds. Their attractive appearance and exceptional aroma will captivate every visitor.

Psidium myrtoides is also an undemanding and adaptable plant. It thrives well in the sun and in partial shade, tolerates short-term drought and, with proper care, becomes a long-lived and attractive exotic tree. In winter, we recommend temperatures above 10 °C. Due to its size, it is easy to maintain even in containers, so you can enjoy a piece of the Brazilian tropics almost anywhere.

If you are looking for a truly unconventional fruit plant that combines beauty, exoticism and exceptional taste, Psidium myrtoides is exactly the species that cannot be missing from your collection.
