Navel, also known as Jabuticaba Purunga or Navel Jabo, is one of the rare species of the Plinia genus. This plant is already fully rooted, strong and growing without any problems - ready to continue to thrive under your care.
Its fruits are a real rarity - round, up to 3 cm in size, with a distinctive "navel" at the base, which resembles a small gourd. The skin is red-purple in color and the pulp surprises with a sweet-sour, refreshing taste. The fruits can be eaten fresh, but also processed into jelly, jams, liqueurs or homemade cachaça.
Purunga grows compactly, with a finely grooved light brown trunk, and is also suitable for growing in a pot. It thrives in partial shade or in the sun, in nutritious, slightly moist soil with good drainage.
First described in 1992 and only recently rediscovered, this species is rightfully considered one of the most interesting and rare jabuticabas ever. The three-year-old plant is now completely stable and represents a unique opportunity to own a rare tropical species that is rarely available outside of Brazil.
