A small to medium-sized spiny evergreen shrub native to Africa. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. It bears yellow, spherical fruit, up to 4 cm in diameter, juicy, aromatic, pleasantly sour when fully ripe. Apricot-like taste. Excellent source of vitamin C (antioxidant), potassium. Contains antioxidants to protect against external aggressors.
