Bunchosia argentea – Peanut Butter Fruit 16€

Out of stock Preparing to autumn 2026

A fruit that truly tastes like peanut butter

Imagine a tropical fruit that surprises you with a flavor reminiscent of creamy peanut butter when you bite into it. That is exactly what Bunchosia argentea—a rare tropical fruit plant from South America known as the Peanut Butter Fruit—offers.

This evergreen shrub or small tree forms a beautiful, densely branched crown with decorative leaves covered in fine, silvery hairs. Small yellow flowers gradually transform into attractive orange-to-red fruits, each about 2.5 cm in size. The ripe fruit is soft and sweet, featuring thick, creamy flesh with a distinctive peanut butter flavor complemented by fruity undertones.

A major advantage is that it is self-pollinating, meaning you only need a single plant to get fruit. Furthermore, it is an exotic species that can begin fruiting surprisingly early—often within just 2–3 years of growing from seed.

Bunchosia is a very low-maintenance container plant. It loves warmth and light during the summer, while in winter, it requires a bright spot with temperatures ideally kept above 13°C.

A rare plant, beautiful fruit, and—above all—a flavor you won't easily find in other fruits. The Peanut Butter Fruit is precisely the kind of plant you simply have to taste at least once. Height of plants for sale: 10 to 15 cm
