Annona sp. "Elongated Colonia Delicia" 115€

ONLY ONE PLANT IN STOCK

In our e-shop we now offer an extremely rare and collector-valued three-year-old plant Annona sp. "Elongated Colonia Delicia". This fascinating species from the Annonaceae family comes from the Argentine-Brazilian border, specifically from the Colonia Delicia area in the province of Misiones. This is a rare, yet scientifically undescribed annon, which is probably closely related to the species Annona neosalicifolia.

In our conditions it grows to a height of about two meters, when grown in a pot it retains a compact shape and responds well to shaping. It attracts attention with elegant elliptical leaves with a glossy surface and cream-colored flowers that appear in the leaf axils. The fruits are strikingly elongated, yellow with dark spots, grow up to 7 cm long and have a rough, strongly aromatic skin. The flesh is sweet, juicy and delicious — ideal for consumption fresh.

This species is surprisingly hardy — it can withstand short-term drops in temperature down to -7 °C. It thrives best in permeable soil rich in organic matter, with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. The first fruits appear after 4–5 years.

Annona sp. "Elongated Colonia Delicia" is a rare specimen that is rarely found in private collections. It is a true decoration of any tropical collection and an exceptional opportunity for growers looking for a unique species with high collector's value.
